I just watched Cloud Atlas, a film that got some pretty mixed reviews but which I actually enjoyed a lot. Certainly a fairly cerebral movie, and some interesting sci fi. It's very intelligent yet also entertaining which I like in a film.
Anyway, I knew Glasgow was used as a location, but I was suprised to see Overtoun House was used as a major location. Great to see the Victorian house I recently went and photographed being used in such a good film.
And here's the movie poster, complete with Hugo Weaving playing a woman.
I also recently visited Culzean Castle, which is Lord Summerisle's house in The Wicker Man, one of my favourite films. Both great looking places, and nice to see them in films.
Exotic Adventure - Music Video
This project started when I created a track inspired by rain forests and mysterious ancient temples, and ended up with a video shot in beautiful Malaysia.
I released a track called Exotic Adventure and I got a lovely message from a girl somewhere in Asia who said this music was perfect for meditating to. I don't really know anything about meditation and I've never been to Asia, so it's cool how music can make the world smaller. Possibly making music is a kind of meditation for me as it allows me to go somewhere completely different, in this case I was imagining a lush and beautiful rain forest when I made the track. I can see why they picked this location. I'm surprised I've never heard of Cloud Atlas as that is a very impressive cast although it's not the first time I've Hugo Weaving in women's clothes, I loved him in The Adventures Of Priscilla, Queen Of The Desert!
I have to say though that the house looks more impressive in your photographs than it does on the movie poster!
